Gem tells Foby about their new litter

Hi Everyone. I’m Gem.

My boyfriend, Foby, and I just had a litter together. He’s been so busy with his studies, I doubt he even noticed.

Foby, when are you going to come by and see the babies?

Aw, honey, I wish I could, but I’m swamped! My advisor has me teaching 3 classes, plus I’m working on my thesis and grading papers all week. Some other time, OK?

But that’s what you told me the last time I called you. And the time before that…when are you not going to be busy? How long does it take to get a PhD, anyway?

Oh, well…uh…my advisor told me that the average amount of time to get a PhD at UCI is about 4 years, but my chosen field of study, Bruxing and Boggling, is pretty crowded, so it’s been kind of hard to find a novel thesis topic, and….

4 years? OMG, Foby, you big dummy! Don’t you think 4 years is a pretty long time for a rat? What were you thinking?

I just can’t take it anymore. Foby, our babies will be grandparents before you ever see them!

No problem, honey! Bring them by Middle Earth. I’m sure my roommates would love to see them as well!

Eek! Is that somebody’s butt I smell? Foby, I’m not bring my babies to Gandalf.

Here: I’ll text you a photo…see what you’re missing?

I support his ambitions, but I can’t help but wonder if a PhD is an entirely realistic goal for a rat. What do you think?

Well, Gem, we think that Foby needs to find some work/life balance, and spend more time with his family. And…Bruxing and Boggling…seriously? He probably needs to get a new advisor…

Gem and Foby’s litter was born on May 23th.  They will be ready to be adopted by people who already have reservations on or after June 27th, 2019.  The moment we know what litter you will be assigned to, whether Tesla or any other litter in the future, you will immediately be sent an invitation to come pick out your babies. If we haven’t sent you an invitation yet, it’s because we don’t yet know which litter will be yours. Litter assignments occur about one week before they are ready to take home.  If you have a reservation, and don’t receive an invitation for Gem’s litter, don’t worry, because Skylar, Vee, Pumpkin, RosieVioletBlondie, Debbie, Dot and Dash will also have babies available very soon!

Unfortunately, this litter is now fully reserved.  However, it is still possible to reserve babies for future litters.

NEW: you can now reserve Roof Rat babies!

NEW: want a rat sooner, or don’t want to pay a deposit?  Sign up for adult or rescue rats!

And, while you are waiting, why not order a Handmade Hideaway or Hammock?

God I love this thing!
