Roof Rats in Danger!
Hurricane Ian struck Central Florida September 28th and 29th, 2022. The Rat House was directly in its path and the Roof Rats and I got just a taste of Mother Nature’s full fury those two days. This was our story.
At 7:30AM September 28th, and the roof rats are waiting nervously for Hurricane Ian to hit. It is already cold, windy and raining constantly. But it will no doubt get much worse. The path of Hurricane Ian is forecast to pass very near us, but hopefully it will be downgraded to a tropical storm by them.
Then, Ian struck! We experienced heavy wind and rain.
And then, at about 4AM on September 29th, 2022, the power went out in the Rat House, cutting off the rats’ air circulation, while raising flood waters threatened to engulf them! It was a terrifying, life-threatening situation! In total darkness, I went out to the rat house to be with them, and try my best to protect them. Recorded as it happened!
We survived, but it was truly terrifying!
